They make a cross over cable that is DCE on one end and DTE on the other.
Both connectors are the Cisco 68 PIN (Think 2500 series router)

No more giant V.35 connectors and 20 feet of cable to deal with
I bought 4. they work fine. good quality. The only thing is that their
view of DTE and DCE is from the other way. On my router that is providing
clocking I attached the end of the cable labeled DTE. Doesn't really
matter. Works great.
