Cisco Routers for IP Routing (ISDN 1576104214) gives an example of using Aux
port for frame relay. It did use ppp encapsulation, but it creates a tunnel.
I believe it's just a fancy configuration that won't do you any good in real
world, just simulate frame relay cloud with 2 2501 routers. It's not too
easy to list the config here, if you really want it, either go buy the book
or maybe I can scan the diagram and config.

Hello Bob,
Since AUX is an async-only interface, I don't believe Frame Relay is
possible there, so that must be a myth. The only encapsulations
supported on AUX (as of 11.2, at least) are ppp and slip.
