Frank is correct with one small exception. In the 7500 line, the new T/R Port
Adapter (that goes in a VIP2) has a built in MAU. You CAN connect two of these
 T/R interface together with a crossover cable. You are still using a MAU, it
just happens to ba built into the interface and is only 'activated' when needed
.
