Mark, Group,

I've got a question..... I orginally stated in my mail that EIGRP
redistributes defaults directly, this was quoted fromthe Doyle book, I'm
just reading the EIGRP FAQ (
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/103/eigrpfaq.html ) and:

"Q. Does EIGRP require a default network to propagate a default route?

A. Although EIGRP can propagate a default route using the default network
method, it isn't required. EIGRP redistributes default routes directly."

Now, I've tried this with a static default to Null0 and it is *NOT*
propagated, however, other documents I've read state that the 0.0.0.0 route
is not understood by eigrp which would then be correct. I *guess* that both
Doyle and Cisco FAQ mean that if a default route exists via another routing
protocol i.e. rip it will be automatically redistributed? Please can some
guru that really understands this clear this up as it's time to put this
thread to bed.

Regards,

Dave.
