Jim,

Plain & simple. The CIMs are great for beginners but
you would be hard pressed using them to help you learn
the concepts & complexities in the lab. Just compare
the objectives from the CIMs with those of the lab.
FYI, the CIMs are narrow in their focus & use a
limited command set.
