Julie, I posted something along these lines a couple of days ago. Here is
what I posted:
---------
Some good examples / instructions to be found in the Slattery / Burton book
Advanced IP Routing in Cisco Networks
Generally, the suggestion is [actual bandwidth] [estimated delay]
[reliability =255] [load=1] [actual MTU]
These are pretty much the default values that would be picked up normally
for IGRP, anyway.
On the OSPF side, the authors used a calculation called SWAG in their
example.
There are many more redistribution examples in this book, and I believe it
is well worth the money spent as part of your preparation strategy.
-------------
end of previous post
in general it is usually a good idea to read all of my posts ;->
( teasing! )
hope this helps
Chuck

Subject: new question: route redistribution metrics
Hi All,
thanks to all for confirming my suspicions on MD5 authentication in
OSPF.
Now - does anyone have or know of guidelines for choosing a default metric
when
redistributing OSPF into IGRP or EIGRP?
Julie Ann
