Here's the scenario:
R1--------SW1--------------R2
Router R1's faste0/0 interface is connected to SW1 (switch).=20
Router R1's loopback address is 10.112.130.5/32
Router R1's faste 0/0 address is 10.112.130.45/30
Router R1's faste 0/0 ospf priority is set to 2
Router R2's faste 1/0 interface is connected to SW1
Router R2's loopback address is 10.112.130.38/32
Router R2's faste 1/0 address is 10.112.130.46/30
Router R2's faste 1/0 ospf priority is set to 1
Obviously, they are on an ethernet network. I am running ospf and both =
routers belong to Area 2. The problem is they are not forming =
adjacencies with each other.
When I check the routing tables on both routers, the other one doen't =
show up. When I check ospf interface info on R1 (sh ip ospf int =
fast0/0), it sees itself as the DR with the loopback address as the =
Router ID. That is what I want.
On R2 on the other hand, it also sees itself as the DR with the its =
loopback address as the Router ID. I am able to ping physical interfaces =
on both routers from each other but can't ping loopback interfaces.=20
I've checked everything from IPs to ospf network types. Could my problem =
be because the loopbacks are not on the same network subnet as the =
physical interfaces or does that even matter at all.=20
Thanks
