Personally I would think that if the co isn't willing to contribute time or
money to your endeavor it's a co that I would be planning on leaving unless
there are just really amazing perks or they are paying you hand over fist.
If they aren't willing to pay or contribute now they probably won't be after
you have your number. Besides, I have seen companies work you hard so you
don't have time to advance so they don't have to pay more, those definitely
places that I would like to avoid.

You need to have a conversation with your employer about study time. Your
value to that company will SPIKE severely once certified, and if they have
ANY plan on keeping you once you have that magic number, they should be
allowing you study time for this.

Also, the "what to do with you once your certified" is another
conversation that you NEED to have with them.
