Daniel,

I believe Auto RP requires sparse-dense-mode. Also while the RP can be
anywhere on the network, the mapping agent has to be in the hub for it to
work. Also ip pim nbma-mode should be configured on the hub.

I'm not expert by any means on multicast - but the Cisco IP multicast book
has all the details you need.
