The solution is to change the escape sequence on one of the routers, so that
they are different.

Before your reverse telnet to the modem,
change the escape character to something other than the default by running
the following command on the 2501 router:

terminal escape-character <CHAR>

This has to be entered on the exec mode, not in config mode unless you want
it permanent.

Example, To change the escape sequence to !x :

RAS_2511_CUST_1_AS11#terminal escape-character !
"!" is the escape character

To revert back to defaults:

terminal escape-character default
