>From what I read between the hypertext, you've had the same experience as
me. I've been trying to configure NTP authentication such that it will fail
between master and NTP client (configured with NTP server command). I can't
seem to do it.
e.g.
NTP client (192.1.1.2)
--------------
ntp authenticate
ntp authentication key 1 md5 cisco
ntp trusted-key 1
ntp server 192.1.1.1 key 1
NTP master (192.1.1.1)
---------------
ntp authenticate
ntp authentication key 1 md5 blah
ntp trusted-key 1
ntp master 1
The client always syncs with the master even when the keys do not match.
Any insight?
Mike G.
