I don't know what the acronym stands for, but the Tardis is a time machine repl
ica of a
70s era British Police Box. "The Doctor" uses it to travel between planets, dim
ensions,
and dates (past, present, and future). It was a British BBC sci-fi show called
"Doctor
Who" airing for 30? years.. The last show aired in the late 80s on Public Telev
ision in
the States. Its still on re-runs on Maryland Public Television late Saturday ni
ght.
