Subject: RIP, IGRP and EIGRP timers

Hello,

Three questions on timers:

1. For RIP (v1 or v2), if the update timer on one router is changed, do we
need to change the update (and other) timers on other routers in the same
rip domain ?

No !

You can change the timers only in one router and live the others with
the default, but if your topology is not loop free you will have
funny situations.

It is not recomended.

2. For IGRP, if the update timer on one router is changed, do we need to
change the update (and other) timers on other routers in the same IGRP
autonomous system ?

Same think for IGRP

3. For EIGRP, if the hello timer on one router is changed, do we need to
change the hello timer on other routers in the same EIGRP autonomous system

Same think for EIGRP

?

The only protocol which the timers must mach for the same area is OSPF

Any ideas ?

HOPE THIS HELPs
