Hi,
Could it be using the Layer 2 multicast address but not related to IP
multicast, IP multicast is alos map into a range of layer 2 multicast.
Regards
Parry

Subject: RE: NLSP multicast address
In the specs it states that NLSP uses multicast and there is an option under
both ipx router nlsp and on the interface to enable multicast. I was
digging through the NLSP notes on CCO last night and came across that. I
was looking for a 224 address as well last night while I was debugging my
lab.
Brian just posted some good information on this and I am off to the lab now
to debug it all again and read the link he provided.

Jon,
Couldn't tell you for sure but I don't think NLSP uses a multicast
address. When I was studing for the exam, I looked for it for a long time
without any success. I think since it is an IPX routing protocol, it will
not use an IP multicast address.
