If you have enough routers you can enable lat and run a lat service across the
bridge. If you can connect to the service then everything is fine.

Subject: RE: Verifying DLSw operation
Hello Guy, I have manged to get DLSw to pass traffic between two Windows
machines loaded with the NETBEUI stack. I configured both machines with
NETBEUI (NetBIOS transport protocol). As I recall, one had an Ethernet NIC
and the other had a TR NIC, I don't think that both being Ethernet in your
case will be a problem. I connected both machines to the same Ethernet
segment to test connectivity and to make sure that I could access shares and
transfer data. I then placed the PC's, one at each end of a DLSw pipe and
proved the DLSw link by being able to connect to shares and transfer data.
Try this, it should work. I think that NetBIOS 0xf0 traffic connectivity is
all that can be tested in this way.
regards
Ki

Subject: Verifying DLSw operation
I have been working on DLSw quite a bit lately, I seem to be able to get it
working with no problem, the only problem I do have is verification. When I
get a router that finds netbios names, and they are listed as found in the
show dlsw reachability output, how do I verify that they are actually
reachable? I can't ping them from the local or remote router, or maybe I
should be able to and don't know how, and I don't see them in the network
neighborhood of a workstation if I put it on the ethernet of the remote
router. So I guess my ultimate question is how do I verify the proper
operation of DLSw? I probably don't need to, as I won't have to verify it
with workstations in the lab, but it would be nice to be able to know that I
can make it function as it should in a production environment. Any help
would be appreciated, I have been trying to do this for some time. Thanks.
