Robert,
                     I know a guy who passed his lab in his 7th attempt
.Just try to imagine what he would have gone through .Persistance does pay
in the long run . If you get sick of doing a particular technology ( I get
sick of bridging pretty fast ) try working on another and you will find it
refreshing ...I am sure that you will get through .All the best .Wish me
luck too as my first attempt is in 8 weeks .
