I agree that this thread sould die but I will share my opinion first.
Wouldn't it be safe to say that any thing that is coveted will attract
many people. SInce the inception of this and any other certification the
#'s have grown. Does that mean that Cisco should disallow new CCIE's ? I
really don't see that Cisco would give CCIE's away, if so that makes the
cert worthless. If the cert is of no value then why are we trying to
obtain our #? I see Cisco continuing their level of quality as always.
There are many more and better quality recources available today than
before for CCIE prep. That in itself will feed the issue so the #'s
increase.

Hmm... That actually sounds like an LSAT question; Every lawyer passes
the
bar exam and every CCIE passes the CCIE lab!

I totally agree. People compare the CCIE lab exam to the Bar Exam but
very lawyer passes the bar exam. Only the cream-of-the-crop pass the
CCIE exam.

I would say that average is not consistent for an entire month or year.
I would rather be doing this than competing at being a lawyer. :):)

I see that, from Saturday, that judging by Chucks number there has been
21 people pass since I got my number. That's an average of 7 per day.
That's a lot, NO?
