I have 2926F's (with MII TX adapters, giving you both FX and TX ability on
the supervisor) as well, for $1250.00.

Basically a 2901 is a SupI with a WS-X5213A blade in it (12 port 10/100),
while a 2926 is a SupII with a WS-X5224 blade in it.

As far as CCIE topics are concerned, the 2926 is giving you the ability
to do FEC, a function of a SupII, which the 2901 can not do.

Also using a 2926 or a 2901 is not simulating anything really, since both
these switches are indeed running the true cat5k OS, they are members of
the Cat5000 family.
