The cisco console cable is a rollover. i.e., 1-8 and 8-1.
So you need just one console cable and then a straighr UTP cable to extend
it. to where ever you want

Can someone help me understand how to connect a PC to the console port of a
router through a Cat 5 patch panel?
My term server is on the other side of a wall. I can connect via Cat 5
jacks I had installed, but do I need to make these jacks rolled or 568B?
Do I need two console cables or just one?
Please let me know.
Thanks.
