Well aside from ppp multilink I think you can do almost everything (backup
interface, snapshot routing, demand circuit) with 2 phone lines (or a pots
simulator, the teltone TLS-4 is a good choice, plus you have a couple of
trunks in case want to practice things like OPX with voice) and 2 modems,
You would me missing the layer 2 configuration and troubleshooting of ISDN
(which is basically why you cannot use a router as ISDN switch, for what I
know a router will not assign TEI as an ISDN switch does).
I got both a POTS and an ISDN simulator, I got the Teltone ILLS-2000 which I
think is the best ever, (very versatile can do any switch type and has the
best resale value on the market)
