According to Shannon Fair, "a few" people have passed based on a re-score.
The re-scoring process is real involved, however. This is what a Cisco
representative says about it:
"The re-read process is intended to verify that the original scoring wa
s
accurate according to the guidelines set by the CCIE Program. A re-read
ensures that there were no major errors or proctor bias in your lab scoring.
The re-read is intended to give a extra level of confidence on grading.
A
second proctor will independently score your entire exam again, and then the
first and second proctors discuss the results along with the re-read team
leader, to arrive at the final scoring. And if necessary as well as members
of our content development team will be involved, all of whom are proctors
as well.
As you can see, the re-read involves at least three and as many as six
or
more staff members in our group. This actually represents a significant
portion of our proctors worldwide - re-reads have a high degree of
visibility within our group. Proctors expect to have their grading
reviewed; we have random reviews for various reasons in addition to those
triggered from re-reads, and proctors view these reviews as an essential
tool in making our grading as accurate as possible. Because of the effort
involved in performing a re-read, however, we only do a single re-read on
any particular exam.
...... And the average of score changes is really low because the proct
ors
take the grading job seriously, following the same standards and guidelines
worldwide. And of course we can make mistakes and because that we have the
re-reads process. Also, even though the average of score changes is low we
already had cases in changing results from Fail to Pass."
So, I guess that one thing you have to ask yourself, when considering
requesting a re-score, is whether or not you want all these people going
through your configs with a fine-toothed comb!

Subject: Anyone ever ask for a review of the result on the exam test
Hi group: I was wondering if anyone has failed the lab and asked for a
review of the lab results and whether this has made a difference - i.e. a
fail is now a pass. Also whether this was the two-day or one-day lab. No
details needed, just if anyone has challenged the mark and whether this
overturned the failure or not. just curious, mark
