If your NTP server require authentication, you will never be able to
synchronize your routers. I have ntp configured on routers but they couldn't
get synchronized because they are not the member of the domain which is the
default setting of our NTP server. After I downloaded a free ntp server--I
can't remember the name now; all routers get sychronized properly. For your
info, good luck!

Subject: NTP synchronisation problem
Hi group,
I am trying to get a 3662 to sync with an external
clock(Free download time server running on windows NT). But
the show ntp status always shows unsynchronised and the
router clock is not getting synchronised with the time
server at all. I am able make this 3662 as the ntp master
and have other routers sync with it. If any body has
related links to relevant info or other free download time
server softwares and share them here, I would really
appreciate it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Murali.
