We had the same problem over here on our net. It is a bug (sorry I
don't have the report to send). There is an IOS that fixes this bug,
but I don't remember off hand which one it is. In the interim I would
suggest what we do; smoke the virtual interface and rebuild it.

I was on the phone w/ Cisco one night working an issue and those guys
thought I was a complete moron because I couldn't modify an interface,
which had little to do w/ the outage at hand. It wasn't until they put
the code in their lab and mirrored what I was doing did they understand
my pain.

We went just upgraded to c6msfc2-pk2sv-mz.121-8b.E9.bin, but we are
still not out of this bug.

Subject: Removing HSRP

I want to change the IP address on one of my HSRP groups (on two
Catalyst
6509s with dual MSFCs). I have not been able to remove or change the IP

address; when I add an IP address, it accepts it as a secondary, but I
cannot change or remove the original. My solution in a pinch was to
reload
the four MSFCs to roll back to my config before I installed HSRP, then I

added in what I wanted. For future reference, how do you remove HSRP
from
an interface, or change the IP address?

Thanks, Kym
