First, never use mutual redistribution without using filtering the routes
(using distribute list..). This is done to prevent routes from one protocol
being redistributed back to the originating protocol. (probably already
knew this)

Second, In almost all cases the access layer protocol is redistributed into
the main (core layer) protocol (by the distribution layer devices). These
should also be summarized when ever possible.

There are plenty of reasons behind this. The most prevalent of these is
that the access layer networks are typically stub. Being stub, the border
router usually injects the default route into the stub area. That default
route and the network routes within the stub is all they typically need.
