The 2500 series run from flash. It will reboot into rx_boot mode with a
stripped-down IOS so that it can still run while overwriting the image in
flash. Have you waited a few minutes after it reboots to see if it regains
connectivity and starts the TFTP download? Earlier versions require you to
set the coofiguration register to 0x2101, reload, and then initiate the
TFTP download.

It is not recommended to do this remotely.

Worst case you can recover via console and xmodem.
