Indeed i understand your problem, im my opinion if you want to redistribute
an ospf network into a rip domain with identical major network it may be a
big problem.
For example your ospf network is 172.16.2.0/30 and your rip domain is
172.16.1.0/24, there will be a problem and for the only solution is to
announce a default route into tje rip v1domain.
Area range is only on a ABR from a area to an other in the ospf domain,
Summary is only to reedistribute route into OSPF and not the ospf into an
other routing protocol
