No PING to SRB Token Ring

Token-Ring Gurus:

I have labbed this up, but would like some confirmation: One cannot ping to an ip address on a token-ring interface, if one has configured SRB on it.

Sure, I can ping it from the directly attached router, but not from any device connected to that router. I get encapsulation errors. Have not tried coming into the router on routed token ring, then trying to go out a bridged token ring, only have one TR interface per router.

Can you guys confirm this is the expected behavior? Or is there some (reasonable) way to accomplish this? I have tried multiring, but this does not work for me (why would appending a RIF help??) The issue seems to be basically---no IRB on Token Ring. Could possibly SR/TLB, but that seems extreme).
