Subject: OT- console cable on 3524
All,
At work, we have a 3524 switch whose console is connected to a 3640 with
async modules. When the octal cable leg is plugged into the 3524, there
is no dummy light on for that line on the async card. However, if you
plug the same leg of the octal cable into one of our 3550 switches, the
dummy light comes on and you have console access. This should prove the
octal cable and async module work. Also, when you plug a console cable
directly from a laptop into the 3524, it works fine. This should prove
that the console port on the 3524 works. The settings for hyperterm on
the laptop are the same as the settings for the async line on the 3640.
Any ideas what might be wrong here?
Thanks,
-Bob
