All,
I've lately read this book and found some problems. Can somebody confirm ?
+ It includes in the "neighbor" command section as well as in the "ip ospf
network " command section examples of adjacencies between interfaces that do
not have the same type:
ptp ---- NMBA
ptmp ---- ptp
The adjacency is obtained by changing the hello timer on the interface but
when I tried that on my routers I found that the adjancencies were
established but that the routes were not installed on the routers, probably
because of discrepancies in the database.
I'm sure that I read somewhere else that adjacencies will actually work
properly only between interfaces of same type.
+ The book might be in fact relating to an old version of the ios because I
found also that they were saying to add a null0 route for summarisation
between areas (using the area range command). This route, from what I've seen
is automatically added in version 12.1.
Can somebody confirm ??? How come there were no errata or additions about
the 2 previous issues ???
Many thanks,
Claudine
