Hi-

In the case of redist between OSPF and BGP WITH option 1, just make sure BGP
and OSPF agree on the same router id. If not, your liable to have another
issue with synch. Should probably hard code your RID's on all BGP/OSPF
speaking routers.

Thanks,
K

Hi Rionaldi,
1.st case the route is not synchronize at router B. So BGP does not have any
best route. If you do
show ip bgp A.B.C.D, you will see it's not marked with">" and the indication
of best path is not
mentioned. If you turned of synch on B everything should be fine.
Another way is to run and IGP between B and C and redistribute the BGP route
into IGP, so it will
get sync in B.

2. Second case the router without bgp confederation identification command
will be treated as a
normal EBGP neighbor residing in AS 1000.

Donny

Dear All,

Question1
My understanding regarding BGP update:
1. routes receive from IBGP peer only sent ot EBGP peer
2. routes receive from EBGP peer sent to EBGP peer and IBGP peer.
right ?

I configure 4 routers
A--------------B------------C--------------D

B & C let say in AS 1000
A in AS 2000
C in as 3000

Configuration:
All router configured with synronization on.
I set B to have neighbor <IP A> next-hop-self
I set C to have neighbor <IP B> next-hop-self
I inject loopback in D into BGP.

with this configuration, all of the router should have D loopback in their
BGP
table, right? But it is not...? D loopback routes only appear in router B,C
and D only.

Question2

Anyone ever see or configure in BGP confederation but one of the router is
not
joining the confederation for example 4 router in AS 1000 with BGP
confederation identification 50. All router is in full mesh configuration

I set in all 3 router

router bgp 1000
bgp confederation identifier 50

the other one router with no bgp confederation identifier 50

How this effect the bgp confederation?

Regards,
Prio
