Yes yes I know that of course , but I'm asking about in the scenarios I was playing in , I didn't find any kewaords that may lead me to one of the above two kinds. Like in Karl Solie skynet lab , he didn't mention any keyword that I can distinguish between dense or sparse mode,

I saw in many scenarios that he just states to make certain routers to
join certain group and not sating exactly which kind of PIM ( dense or
spare or sparse-dense ) , is it optional and we choose anyone or there
are some kewords that identify the type but I didn't catch them
