Hello Chris,
Thats true, if you specify the channel-group in the interface without
configuring the port-channel first it will create it automatically. If you
put the information trunking, prunning, etc., under the port channel that
information will automatically be propagated to the individual interfaces,
so you will not have to reenter that information in the interfaces.
