RE: Memory leak??

With the newer Service Provider images you can have the router reserve
additional memory for console access. The default memory allocation for
the console is 256kb. The new "memory reserved console" global command
allows you to allocate more memory for the console in case the router
runs low on memory.

Of course the long term solution is to find the cause of the memory
issue (i.e. fragmented memory or low memory). But unfortunately a lot of
times when the router is having issues you can not access the console to
troubleshoot the problem. That's why this new command is so helpful.

Subject: Memory leak??

Hi group,

Lately, I am having trouble accessing(Telnet and Console) some of my
routers
with an error message of
say " Memory low, try again!. " Since it happens so often lately, I was
wondering if there are some people having the same issue.

Please let me know if you have any idea.

Thanks!

Yuki
