I got my number yesterday at RTP. Woohoo!!! #12380

I know it has been said before but I really did not know what I was getting
myself into when I started down this road. Once you have gone down the road a
little ways it is usually to late to turn back but yesterday made it all
worthwhile.

I started 3 years ago and took the exam pretty much once a year after that. I
should have gone back immediately and maybe it would not have taken so long.
Oh well, maybe I will have better retention because of it. Anyway..I did all
the same things everyone else has reported. Reading the standards...labbing
etc. I have a lot of people to thank here but it would be too long of a list
and I would without a doubt leave people out that should be in it so:

I will just say thank you!!! Thank you very much to Groupstudy... both #cisco
irc chats and a big thanks to CyscoExpert. Sincerely...I sat the exam by
myself but I passed because of the help of a whole lot of others so thank you
very very much for your help and support!!!

I want to say a little about CyscoExpert too. I think it is important because
I believe it made a difference and I am positive had I gone there sooner I
would have put this behind me awhile ago. It is very much worth it in my
opinion.

This time I did not study really at all until about 2 weeks before my exam. I
was tired of going over the same things I had been going over and over for the
last three years. I was at some king of standstill and with no feedback I was
at the end of my rope. I had already put in plenty of hours from the previous
years and attempts and just felt like I must be missing something. I would
take the QoS doc or some other doc and start reading only to realize and
understand that that was pointless...I knew the information and had gone over
it more then once. I could lab it up sideways, but I never passed the
CCIE......... That is where CyscoExpert comes in.

It was a fantastic decision. They have the best training model I have seen. It
is individual..not classroom training (although they have that too). At
CyscoExpert if you do it correctly, you get the benefit of knowing it is
correct because a CCIE tells you it is, you also go through the exercise of
exploring alternative ways of doing the same task with your CCIE "instructor"
(partner is prolly a better word) sitting next to you, and if you did it
wrong...getting simple explanations as to how to do it correctly and why it is
correct etc... A very wise investment on my part I think. There are about 5
very important things that I got from there (I got more then that but these
were crucial) that I never saw in self study or maybe saw but did not have the
comprehension to realize and understand what I was seeing. So I want to give
them their props and make a recommendation.

If you think you are ready for your CCIE....I would recommend you spend a
little time there first. It will make a difference I am sure. No matter how
ready you may be you will walk away being more prepared then before you went
giving you an extra edge regardless of how much you may already know. It is
also an excellent assessment of whether you really are ready or not and the
people there are fantastic. Very helpful!!
