Hi Everyone.
I was wondering if someone is kind enough to explain the the following
scenario that I have:
R7
|
|
R5 --------------------R9
|
R6
R7 is a EBGP neighbor of R5 . R5 and R6 are route-reflector clients of R9.
R5 learns network 207 from R7 - on the routing table of R5 network 207 has
a admin distance of EBGP which is 20.
At R9 BGP is redistributed into OSPF - the admin distance of network 207 is
now 200.-
Q1. Having redistributed BGP into OSPF, why does BGP still get installed
into the routing table with a admin distance of 200 instead of showing up as
a OSPF route ?
At R6 - network 207 is now a OSPF E route with a admin distance of 110 -
Q2.. Why is it that changing the admin distance to a number lower than 110
does not bring BGP into the routing table ?
However, changing the admin distance a number 200 or higher for network
207, will get a iBGP route installed with a admin distance of 200.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Paul
