NetMaster's DOIT Workbook has some great explanations for redistribution and
route filtering. They also have a white paper available for download in the
READIT section. I am not sure about IE but would imagine from looking over
their sample lab and taking their vClass a few months ago that they do an
excellent job covering it in their workbook (Brian did a great job of
covering it in class). Also, there have been a couple of pretty good posts
in the last month or so discussing it. Cisco's Tech Tips
http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/Support/browse/index.pl?i=Technologies&f=770
has some great protocol specific information for the IGPs and BGP.
I've found the best teacher is just to lab up different scenarios and see
how the IGP's react and to see what the routing tables look like. Breaking
it and fixing it also seems to make it stick the best :)
