I am having an issue with PPP over ATM. The interface become up up
however Ping does not work. Have any thoughts?

Try putting the ip address on the virtual-template.

Then shut / no shut the interface and be sure you wait to see the
virtual interface go down before "not shut", since sometimes it takes a
bit longer than most interfaces.
