It's great that you continue to set goals -- that's the way everyone grows.
Have you considered some complementary ones? For example, you could go to
www.ietf.org and look through the Working Groups until you find one or more
that particularly interests you. Join their mailing list and lurk for a while,
getting a sense of the issues, personalities, etc. When you feel ready, make a
relevant comment, which just might introduce some operational reality, or you
might find a way to make text in an Internet-Draft more understandable.
Very different but very complementary.
