Hi

Apologies for this, but I am having a strange problem with a catalyst 3550. I'm trying to tie this down, and think it might be a trunking issue. Basically what happens is my 3550 appears to freeze, whenever I type commands such as "show run", "write" etc. The output freezes for a few seconds, then continues.

--------------- Gigabit ---------------
Cat 5500 | --------------------------------| Cat 3550 |
--------------- ---------------

I have a UNIX host hanging off the 3550, and whenever I telnet to it (the UNIX host), any commands also "freeze" (i.e. if I type 'ls -l' then the output freezes)

My laptop is connected to the 5500. If however, I connect directly to the console of the 3550, then telnet to the UNIX host, everything is ok.

I'm using dot1q encapsulation across the link

Lab_3550_1#show run int g0/1
