Redistributing OSPF into BGP should copy the ospf metric into the bgp med automagically.
What doesn't work/supported is the reverse .. ie redistributing bgp into ospf.  The bgp meds are not looked at, and the ospf routes get whatever metric is used on the redistribute statement.
I had that verified by the Cisco TAC for a customer of mine last week.  Can't be done.
