The first thing I see is that the dialer strings point to themselves. The
strings should point to the called router.
I assume also that you are replacing the sample configs with the actual
spids and dial strings on your equipment?

Subject: Having trouble with Kaslow's ISDN example
I have been trying to make the basic ISDN config in Kaslow's book to work,
but am having issues. This is my config:
R1:
interface BRI0
 ip address 172.16.1.1 255.255.255.0
 encapsulation hdlc
 dialer string 2222
 dialer-group 1
 isdn switch-type basic-ni
 isdn spid1 22220101 2222
dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit
R2:
interface BRI0
 ip address 172.16.1.2 255.255.255.0
 no ip directed-broadcast
 dialer string 1111
 dialer-group 1
 isdn switch-type basic-ni
 isdn spid1 11110101 1111
dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit
----------------------------------END
I am trying to make this basic config work between 2 devices and am getting
stuffed. Can somebody point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
