It's certainly a way to get knowledge, although I'd be concerned that
Cisco may reinforce bad BGP practices.
Personally, I think someone can learn the service provider
environment better from participation in NANOG, IETF, and other
forums, and get known to people in the industry in the process.

Very carefully avoiding being commercial here, are there a
significant number of people that are interested enough in real-world
BGP such that study materials would be of interest? I doubt there
are any lab scenarios set up specifically for Cisco.
