Well, I settled on PBR, although it wont be too obvious to the watchers
of the routing table... So I'll have to go with more training on the
lower level support.

Suffice to say, there is a specific purpose to distributing the loading
at L3 for my implementation... So having multiple equal cost routes for
distribution is not prefered... Rather the specific Path selection is
what I need via OSPF. Oh well... PBR it is.

What is the problem with standard route-map ?
I've labbed it and setting metric when you import the route into ospf
works as expected.

As OSPF has a common database, this has to be done on "entry" to the
ospf domain, but using type 1 externals may work for you.
