RE: SBC Pre-Sales Engineering Position Open - Northern Virginia

Same here, I love SBC, my job is cool as hell, I get to flex my brain
constantly during the day, and I have found the company to be nothing but
supportive with my own career/certification goals (they even gave me a rack
of equipment to study with when I passed my CCIE Written).

Then again, I am relatively new (been working for them for a few months),
but I work for AADS, and it is one of the best jobs I have ever had.

Every job is what you make it. I have found that most of the people that are
dissatisfied with their jobs feel that way because they don't care about
them. It is your responsibility to make your job your own, and to make
yourself indispensable to the company. Not the other way around.

BTW, the job sounds kind of cool, but I am pretty happy where I am (both
geographically and career-wise). Is this an SBCLD thing (being outside
Ameritech/MOKA-T/SWB area?)

directly, look me up in phone.

It sounds like Joe has had the opposite experience that I've had at SBC.
I work 40 hours a week, get trained, SBC put me through an MBA program,
paid for my certifications, and didn't lay me off. I'm glad I didn't
work for Joe's organization at SBC! Thanks. Ken.

Sounds like a description of the average IT job these days...
