I believe the Cisco phones can run on two-pair whereas Avaya require 
four-pair.
Cisco can run phantom power over the ethernet pair.
This might be a significant factor for existing investments in switch 
cabling and patch frames
or may assist in an easier transition without disturbing the cabling too 
much.
