Hi,
I have an AS Lab with a full ibgp mesh and one of the interfaces is assigned
using a router configured as dhcp server in the network(just because). All
of my ibgp neighbors are on the same /24 network and are announcing an
aggregate /16 whilst supressing the more specific updates. All of the ibgp
neighbours only receive the aggregated /16 except for the 2 ibgp connections
to the router that has an interface learnt via dhcp.
The router with the interface via dhcp cannot supress the more specific
route
BGP
* i                 1.1.5.1                       100      0 i
Where as it should look like
BGP
s> 1.1.5.0/24       0.0.0.0                  0         32768 i
If I re-assign the same address statically to the interface the problem
recitfies itself so there must be something within the router that treats a
dhcp interface differently.
This is what I am trying to understand and would appreciate any feedback.
Cheers
Rob
