Keep on fighting BRO!. You sound like a fighter to me!! and please
keep fighting until...like you said, the great beast is tamed. I do
not have any doubt that you will eventually succeed. A little extra
effort will see you through! ...get you over the hump. It's like an
exponential curve, after a particular point, it looks completely flat,
but actually still rising, You need a little bump, a little extra
effort, and voila! you will savor victory, and the spoils of war will
be yours to choose from!!
Like the old chinese proverb say: "The journey of a thousand miles
starts with the first step", You have taken many steps, but have not
reached the destination. When you get to the destination, you will
look back with a smile, and probably say to yourself, 'hmmm, that was
fun!'
So, relax, and enjoy the trip, its a trip that builds endurance,
patience and of course, knowledge of internetworks.
Again, enjoy the trip.
Zouta.
Hi guys,
A few of you have asked how I did on the lab.
Sadly, I didn't pass.
While at first glance the lab seemed very reasonable and quite doable, once
I got deep into it, lots of bobby traps reared their ugly heads and slowed
me down.
By the lunch break, I had finished the first half of the lab but without
much double checking.
Security, QoS, BGP and Mcast had some nasty requirements and turned out to
be my undoing.
Actually, I'm not sure I should include BGP as part of my undoing since I
hardly lost any points in that part although it did take longer than I
wanted to do.
But, on the positive side, I'm very close to taming this beast.
(I hope that doesn't sound like Bush saying, "We're close to capturing Osama
bin Laden." but I couldn't escape the parallel.)
Actually, let me retract that statement since the ccie lab hasn't terrorized
as many people as OBL, right?
OK, time to regroup and get on with it.
Also, let me thank all of you who patiently keep answering my relentless
questions and keep supporting and encourage all of us still in pursuit.
Tim
