Re: BGP Failover Scenario with Redistribution into EIGRP

I have a scenario that I am trying to get working. It
involves (4) sites, with (3) routers per site, for a
total of (12) routers.

Scenario is as follows:

A-RRtr-eth<->A-7606<-eth----->C-7606<-eth->C-RRtr
^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
| | \ / \ |
| | eth eth \ |
| | | | \ |
| | A-7206 D-7206 | |
| | ^ ^ | |
| | | | | |
| eth ser ser | |
| | | | | |
| | v v | |
| | B-7206<ser>D-7206 | |
| | / \ | |
| | / \ | |
^ v ^ v | v
B-RRtr-eth<->B-7606 D-7606<-->D-RRtr

Site-A

Site A Reg-Rtr.
-EIGRP 1
-eth->to 7606 (EIGRP 1)
-ser->to Site B Reg-Rtr(EIGRP 1)

Site A 7606
EIGRP 1
BGP 65101
-eth->to Reg.A-Rtr (EIGRP 1)
-eth->to Site B 7606 (IBGP)
-eth->to Site A 7206 (IBGP)
-eth->to Site C (EBGP-to AS 65102)

Site A 7206
BGP 65101
-eth->to 7606 (IBGP)
-ser->to Site B 7206 (IBGP)

Site B
Site B Reg-Rtr.
-EIGRP 1
-eth->to 7606 (EIGRP 1)
-ser->to Site A Reg-Rtr(EIGRP 1)

Site B 7606
EIGRP 1
BGP 65101
-eth->to Reg.B-Rtr (EIGRP 1)
-eth->to 7206 (IBGP)
-eth->to Site A 7606 (IBGP)

Site B 7206
BGP 65101
-eth->to 7606 (IBGP)
-ser->to Site A 7206 (IBGP)
-ser->to Site D 7206 (EBGP)

Sites C and D are mirror images of A and B, except for
EIGRP AS = 2, and BGP AS = 65102. Note that local
preference as AS prepending are implemented to favor
A-to-C over B-to-D inter-regional link.

When I ping from Regional Router at Site A to Regional
Router at Site C, when link from 7606 at Site A to
7606 at Site C is down, I ping successfully for
exactly one minute, then there is a one-minute long
failed ping, then it picks up again.

Any ideas why there is such a regular up and down
connection problem?

Thanks,

Ted
