Hans,
        This is accomplished by manipulating BGP attributes per the BGP
best path selection process.  The bestpath selection process can be
found here:

        Typically the attributes of weight and local-preference are used
to affect how traffic leaves your AS.  Modifying these attributes on
inbound routing information will affect the outbound path selection.
The attributes of AS-Path and MED are used to affect how traffic enters
your AS.  Modifying these attributes on outbound routing information
will affect the inbound traffic flow.
