Hi,
Have you tested the example from Chin's book (Frame Relay Solutions Guide) on page 618, about configuring a router to generate path and resv messages?
It does not work for me. The router crashes.
The only way it works is using 'ip rsvp sender' instead of 'ip rsvp sender-host'
Tests that works:
r2
ip rsvp sender 148.5.29.9 148.5.29.2 TCP 7000 7000 148.5.235.5 Serial0/2 16 2
r9
ip rsvp reservation 148.5.29.9 148.5.29.2 TCP 7000 7000 150.100.1.1 Ethernet0 FF LOAD 16 2
Rack2R2#sh ip rsv res det
RSVP Reservation. Destination is 148.5.29.9, Source is 148.5.29.2,
Protocol is TCP, Destination port is 7000, Source port is 7000
Next Hop is 148.5.29.9, Interface is Serial0/5
Reservation Style is Fixed-Filter, QoS Service is Controlled-Load
Average Bitrate is 16K bits/sec, Maximum Burst is 2K bytes
Min Policed Unit: 0 bytes, Max Pkt Size: 1500 bytes
Resv ID handle: 01000404.
Policy: Forwarding. Policy source(s): Default
r2(s0/5)----------(s3)r9(e0)
r2 s0/5 - ip 148.5.29.2
r9 s3 - ip 148.5.29.9
r9 e0 - ip 150.100.1.254
On tests that does not works (using ip rsvp sender-host) I got this message;
.Aug 19 12:23:10: RSVP-RESV: Admitting new reservation: 83311E28
.Aug 19 12:23:10: RSVP 148.5.4.1_7000->148.5.15.1_7000[0.0.0.0]: Sending RESV ERROR message to 148.5.14.1
